Nike’s ACG line debuted the Mountain Fly GORE-TEX in October 2020 and for those who missed out then, will get another shot this year. The ultra-modern, utilitarian pair will return in its “Khaki” colorway.<\/p>\n
It’s a model beloved by outdoorsman and the like. A model where form follows function, and function falls in with fashion\u2014Gorpcore particularly. Starting with the outsole, it’s highly durable and grippy, made to withstand the unpredictable and precarious terrain. It’s put into effect through the proliferated chevrons, from the toecap through to the heel.<\/p>\n
ACG has always been primarily a performance-driven pair and the ethos hasn’t changed. As it was below, so it is on top. The same endurance design principle is applied on the upper through the dual-material grid patterned make of the external bootie, preventing debris, water or snow from permeating the interior.<\/p>\n
Other notable details include the 3M reflective panels covering the pair’s circumference, highlighting ACG’s branding on the heel, and GORE-TEX’s imprint midfoot shielding the tongue. Adjacent to it are the pull tabs on both fore and rear of the collar. The final touch comes through on the toggle-lacing system, in pink, for security and contrast.<\/p>\n
The pair will be available from February 6 at Nike’s brick-and-click as well as select retailers like Asphaltgold.<\/p>\n
