For good reason, too. The NMD R1 was presented as a silhouette that was equipped with the best of parts of the Trefoil&#8217;s older horses: the Micropacer, Rising Star, and Boston Super. That meant a full length Boost midsole complete with block EVA plugs that had a fun, Lego-esque aesthetic.<\/p>\n<p>But beyond repurposing its already-successful pieces, adidas also attached its Primeknit upper through the NMD R1. Mind you, flexible sock-like uppers were basically unheard of in 2015, lending the adidas NMD a freshness that had sneaker enthusiasts enamored. Though NMD had no particular meaning when it was attached to the shoe, its relatively malleable and easy-to-stuff-in-bags construction made the model a hit among nomads on the go, leading many to believe that NMD stood for Nomad. It&#8217;ll be hard to find anyone who&#8217;ll dispute the adidas NMD&#8217;s iconic status among lifestyle options, and the Three Stripes are bringing back these OG classics on the first day of 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, adidas&nbsp;<em>is&nbsp;<\/em>dropping a NMD R1 OG Pack, complete with original colorways and all. They&#8217;re pretty much identical to their predecessors on the aesthetic level, but minor tweaks have been made. For its 2023 comeback, the NMD&#8217;s recognisable pull tabs still maintain &#8220;The Brand with The 3 Stripes&#8221; branding, but is now done in different languages. Similarly, the adidas logo branded onto the &#8220;Semi Lucid Blue&#8221; EVA plug has been swapped for Japanese Kanji, infusing the model with greater nomadic quality.<\/p>\n<p>This adidas NMD R1 OG Pack will ring in the new year on 1 Jan 2023 on the CONFIRMED app. They will retail for US$160 per pair.
