While sneakers are usually the pair to go for a casual look, many have look towards classic leather shoes for a more elevated aesthetic and talking about leather shoe brands, one would definitely not miss out Dr. Martens.<\/p>\n

Within the land of the rising sun, one can dive into a whole new world through the label\u2019s first global concept store \u201cDr. Martens SHOWROOM TYO\u201d. Looking into the history of the brand, the concept store aims to move foward and promote new cultures in modern times.<\/p>\n

Partnering up with art magazine HIDDEN CHAMPION, the duo kicked off the start of their collaborative exhibition, dubbed as \u201cBooted Art\u201d. The exhibition features five local artists\u2019 individual works, also in the form of Dr. Martens\u2019 iconic 1460 boots and 1461 shoes.<\/p>\n

1. HIROTTON ART BOOT<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Heavily influenced by the punk and skateboarding cultures, HIROTTON’s art reflects through the use of mismatched skulls and quotes around the shoes.<\/p>\n

2. END. ART BOOT<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Having designed artworks for many musicians, renowned artist END shows his indie-style art in a monotoned fashion with provocative messages.<\/p>\n

3. Keeenue ART BOOT<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

With a unique style of painting, Keeenue creates a layered and almost 3-dimensional aesthetic through the use of colors.<\/p>\n

4. MHAK ART SHOE<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Intrigued by the concept of space through interior designs, MHAK creates a simple gradient effect through his art to reference one’s way of living.<\/p>\n

5. Yohta Matsuoka \u201cJONJON GREEN\u201d ART SHOE<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

With elements of construction and abstract designs, Matsuoka’s art depicts a minimalistic yet futuristic landscape.<\/p>\n

With the exhibition currently on-going from 10th November to 12th December, the five artists’ artworks and art shoes will be available for pre-orders in limited quantities, with 1460 boots and 1461 shoes retailing at 77,000 JPY (~US$550) and 71,500 JPY (~US$510) respectively.<\/p>\n
