🚀 Why the Hype? Analyzing the Surge

Why is a single card commanding such attention? It comes down to a perfect storm of Lore, Rarity, and Meta Potential.

    1. The “First Ever” Factor & Killer Art

This card marks the TCG debut of Mega Feraligatr, a form introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The artwork is stunning, featuring the Pokémon in its new “Totodile Mask” form—where its massive dorsal fins create a cowl over its head, giving it a menacing, prehistoric look.

Found exclusively in the secret “Deck No. 101,” this card features the coveted SAR (Special Art Rare) texturing. It’s a piece of Pokémon history.

    2. A Meta-Defining Powerhouse?

It’s not just for the binder. Competitive players are scrambling to get a playset because of its attack, likely translated as “Killer Crunch.”

    • The Effect: If the opponent’s Active Pokémon already has damage counters on it, this attack deals an additional 200 damage.

    • The Combo: Pair this with spread-damage tech, and you’re hitting for 400 damage.

    • The Impact: That’s an instant OHKO (One Hit Knock Out) on high-HP meta staples like Dragapult ex (HP 300+).

For players looking to “bling out” their high-tier decks (Max Rarity), this SAR version is the ultimate flex.

      3. The “Lottery” Distribution Model

The Start Deck 100 Battle Collection is notorious for its distribution method. You buy a sealed box, and you get one of over 100 potential deck variations at random. Pulling the specific “Secret Deck 101” containing this card is statistically incredibly difficult, driving scarcity and value through the roof.
