Following the successful release of the Air Jordan 5 “El Grito” last year, Jordan Brand is continuing its tribute to Mexico’s heritage with the new Air Jordan 3 Retro “El Vuelo\u201d. This sneaker is a direct homage to the vibrant world of lucha libre, celebrating the high-flying maneuvers of luchadores, a theme that draws a powerful parallel to Michael Jordan’s iconic nickname, “His Airness\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Air Jordan 3 Retro “El Vuelo”<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The design of the “El Vuelo” incorporates several key elements from lucha libre. The shoe will feature textured, shiny leather and overlays inspired by the luchador masks, colored in the green, white, and red of the Mexican flag. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These masks, which are deeply rooted in the traditions of ancient Mayan and Aztec warriors, are a central part of a luchador\u2019s identity. The masks symbolize their persona as a hero or a god, and unmasking an opponent during a match is considered a serious offense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The thematic packaging for the sneakers is designed to resemble a promotional poster for a lucha libre event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Release Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Air Jordan 3 Retro “El Vuelo” is scheduled to be released in the Fall of 2025 with a retail price of US$230. It will be available through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
