[Update 11 Aug 2025] Due to excessive demand causing McDonald’s outlets across Japan to run out of stock well in advance, McDonald’s Japan was forced to end the promotional campaign early; specifically, during the evening of 9 August.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, that wasn’t even close to the main problem impacting the launch of these cards. Issues such as food wastage, disregard for group size limits, and attempts to cheat the system and obtain the cards via underhanded means, to name but a few, were rife at McDonald’s outlets throughout the country. As such, many in the community are now questioning if McDonald’s Japan will ever be part of a Pok\u00e9mon TCG collaboration again, given the absolute disaster that this one turned out to be.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a lighter note, the image of each card pack is now out; it can be seen in our gallery. In addition, all card prices are now known; all the cards sell for 400 JPY (~US$2.71) except for the Pikachu card<\/a> which costs 1,500 JPY (~US$10).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 9 to 11 August 2025, McDonald’s Japan will be distributing one of six promotional reprints of a Pok\u00e9mon TCG card with every purchase of a Happy Meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The six cards in question feature Pikachu, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Ralts, and Riolu. All six cards are exactly the same as the original but with the McDonald’s logo on them except for the Pikachu card which features a never-before-seen illustration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The original versions of the six cards are as follows: Pikachu from Cyber Judge [SV5M], Sprigatito from Battle Partners [SV9], Fuecoco from Super Electric Breaker [SV8], Quaxly from Paradise Dragona [SV7a],<\/a> Ralts from Mega Symphonia [M1S], and Riolu from Mega Brave [M1L].<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All six cards have already been released in English; however, the Pikachu card’s illustration is thus far Japanese-exclusive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sale prices of each of the six cards will only be known once the first copies make it to the open market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
