In 1980, Terry Fox, a Canadian who had lost a leg to cancer, embarked on the extraordinary Marathon of Hope, an endeavor to run across Canada and raise money for cancer research. He ran the equivalent of a marathon every day, ultimately raising over CAD 24 million before his journey was cut short due to the spread of his cancer. For this monumental undertaking, adidas supplied Fox with 26 pairs of their Orion sneakers. Forty-five years later, adidas Canada is re-releasing the Terry Fox x adidas Orion, paying special tribute to Fox’s inspiring legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Terry Fox x adidas Orion<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This re-release is an almost exact replica of the Night Navy and White colorway Fox wore during his run. It features a classic navy nylon base complemented by leather and suede accents on the mudguard, eyestays, and heel, alongside crisp white leather on the iconic Three Stripes and heel tab. In a unique touch, Fox’s name is stamped in Metallic Gold foil on the side, replacing the usual “Orion” text. The design is completed with a custom 45th-anniversary insole and the original white and navy outsole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Release Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Terry Fox x adidas Orion will be available exclusively through adidas Canada starting 3 July. The sneakers will come in unisex sizing and retail for US$145. Significantly, all proceeds from these sales will be donated directly to the Terry Fox Foundation, supporting cancer research\u2014a cause that has already garnered over US$600 million thanks to Fox’s enduring impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
