[Update 30 Jul 2025] This card has become a key part of a new Gardevoir ex deck build, primarily because of its Ability of Oceanic Curse which prevents the opponent from playing any Item or Pok\u00e9mon Tool cards in hand for as long as Jellicent ex is in the player’s Active Spot.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Gen 5 video games Pok\u00e9mon Black and White as well as their sequels Black 2 and White 2, Jellicent was one of the most common of the possible wild Pok\u00e9mon encounters which could be generated when the player moved over rippling water. In contrast, this Jellicent ex card from newly-released Pok\u00e9mon TCG set White Flare [SV11W]<\/a> is anything but common.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Jellicent ex (White Flare [SV11W] 170\/086)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Coming in at a rarity of Special Art Rare (SAR), this card has an illustration which depicts a pair of Jellicent ex underwater. Like many of the other cards in Black Bolt [SV11B] and White Flare [SV11W], this card contains a reference to the video games. Towards the top of the image, ripples can be seen on the surface of the water\u2014an obvious allusion to the aforementioned rippling water where Jellicent can be found in the wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On top of the video game reference, another point of note lies in the fact that the card’s illustration features a male and a female Jellicent ex. While this would normally have been a point of not much note, with Jellicent it’s different because the male and female versions of Jellicent are perhaps the most strikingly different of any Pok\u00e9mon with physical differences between male and female forms. Finally, many are expecting this card to be meta-relevant because of its Item-locking capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Release Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This card will be released in English on 18 July 2025 as part of White Flare [WHT].<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A copy of a Jellicent (White Flare [SV11W] 170\/086) card carries a price tag of 2,800 JPY (~US$19).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
