Of the three final evolutions of the Gen 5 starters, Serperior was the only one to make it onto a Special Art Rare (SAR) card from Black Bolt [SV11B] and White Flare [SV11W]. There can be little doubt that the card did, in fact, live up to the hype that a starter’s final evolution in a “nostalgia set” should generate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Serperior ex (Black Bolt [SV11B] 167\/086)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This card has a Full Art illustration which depicts Serperior ex in a grassy field with much greenery being clearly visible. Adding visual depth is the layer of holofoil which brings about a visual effect that makes it appear as though sun is streaming down through the treetops. On top of that, this card represents the final portion of a narrative which started from the cards of its pre-evolutions: Snivy and Servine, both from White Flare [SV11W]. Serperior ex is implied to have evolved from those.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Pok\u00e9mon Card 151 [SV2a]<\/a>, the previous set to be a “nostalgia set”, all three Gen 1 starters’ final evolutions had SAR versions which were among the most coveted of the entire set. Assuming that the trend holds, this will likely be the same with Serperior ex as well. After all, for many who grew up with Gen 5, Serperior was the first Pok\u00e9mon they ever owned in the video games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Release Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The English version of this card will be launched alongside the rest of Black Bolt [BLK] on 18 July 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buying a copy of a Serperior ex (Black Bolt [SV11B] 170\/086) card will cost 3,500 JPY (~US$24).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
