As the only pseudo-Legendary Pok\u00e9mon of Gen 5, it’s not surprising that Hydreigon was one of the Pok\u00e9mon put on a Special Art Rare (SAR) card in Pok\u00e9mon TCG dual set Black Bolt [SV11B] and White Flare [SV11W]. Interestingly, it’s the second time in just the last four main sets that Hydreigon ex has been on such a card following its appearance on one in Super Electric Breaker [SV8]<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Hydreigon ex (White Flare [SV11W] 171\/086)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On this card’s illustration, Hydreigon ex can be seen hovering over some ruins in an intense thunderstorm. This scene is likely a reference to the Hydreigon belonging to Team Plasma leader Ghetsis; similarly, the ruins shown might be those of N’s Castle where in the Pok\u00e9mon Black and White video games, the player challenges Ghetsis at the climax of the story. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This card’s imagery contains two other references to the video games. The thunderstorm in the background can be implied to be the doing of Legendary Pok\u00e9mon Thundurus which causes thunderstorms everywhere it goes. It also alludes to the “weather wars” of the Gen 5 video game metagame in which many matches were decided by which player was able to get their weather condition\u2014whether sun, rain, or sandstorm\u2014to stick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In English, this card will be released on 18 July 2025 alongside the rest of White Flare [WHT].<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A copy of a Hydreigon ex (White Flare [SV11W] 171\/086) card sells for 4,000 JPY (~US$28).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
