In response to escalating concerns over product shortages and scalping, GameStop has announced new purchase limits on Pok\u00e9mon TCG products they sell. Starting with the release of the Destined Rivals [DRI]<\/a> expansion on 30 May 2025, customers will be restricted to purchasing only one of each product per release. This policy also applies to the Prismatic Evolutions Binder Collection, set to launch on 24 May. An exception is made for individual booster packs, which are limited to five per customer. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative aims to ensure broader access to new releases, addressing issues where scalpers and resellers have previously monopolized stock, leaving genuine fans empty-handed. Earlier this year, GameStop discontinued all Pok\u00e9mon TCG pre-orders, citing supply constraints and a desire to promote in-store purchases. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As more resellers enter the Pok\u00e9mon TCG scene to scalp products, it has become increasingly difficult for genuine fans to purchase the items they\u2019re looking for. GameStop\u2019s new policy may be a step in the right direction to curb this issue, but whether it proves effective remains to be seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
