Tom Sachs and NikeCraft introduced the General Purpose Shoe (GPS), building on the success of their Mars Yard series. Initially previewed in early 2022, the GPS made its official debut in June of the same year. Subsequent colorways, in “Brown”<\/a> and yellow “Archive”<\/a>, were released before the collaboration was interrupted. The partnership resumed in September 2024 with a re-release of the original GPS, marking the return of the footwear line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe \u201cStudio\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Positioned as a versatile sneaker suitable for everyday activities, the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft GPS collection is designed for terrestrial pursuits, contrasting with the space-focused design of the Mars Yard series. The “Studio” edition of the GPS draws its inspiration from Sachs’s studio environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pair features a predominantly Light Cream upper constructed from durable and breathable materials, complemented by Light Bone suede overlays across the shoe. A White Nike Swoosh adorns the profiles, while Game Royal accents provide contrast on the tongue and heel pull tabs. The design is completed with a three-piece molded cupsole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Release Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First launched on 10 June 2022, via a raffle on Tom Sachs’ website, the GPS line was always intended to be a continuously restocked offering. According to Sachs, the GPS models are designed with a “perennial” availability in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the initial release, restocks occurred on 5 August and 2 December of the same year. After a period of hiatus, the shoe returned on 27 February 2025, with another release anticipated in Holiday 2025<\/strong>. The Tom Sachs x NikeCraft GPS will be available again in unisex sizing with a price tag of US$110.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
