The Incineroar card from the SM-P Promotional Cards recently made headlines within the Pok\u00e9mon TCG community after on the PokemonTCG subreddit<\/a>, a collector shared her story of how her copy of the card took the brunt of the impact of a stray bullet which might have otherwise killed her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collector didn’t mention which of the Incineroar card’s two versions was the one in question. That being said, the more valuable of the two is the one from the Midsummer’s Pika Pika Alola Festival campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Incineroar (SM-P Promotional Cards 113\/SM-P)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Midsummer’s Pika Pika Alola Festival campaign ran from 22 July to 3 September 2017. While this campaign was active, buyers who purchased at least five booster packs in a single transaction from any participating Pok\u00e9mon Centers or Pok\u00e9mon Stores in Japan or from the Pok\u00e9mon Center’s online store would receive one of six promotional cards selected at random. This Incineroar card was one of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Owing to its status as a promotional card which was only available for a relatively short time, relatively few copies of this seventh-generation promotional card are in circulation; this factor inherently elevates its value. Those who have come to the Pok\u00e9mon TCG via the Pok\u00e9mon video games might also be drawn to this card because in the video games, Incineroar is one of the most powerful Pok\u00e9mon and a staple on countless Pok\u00e9mon video game tournament teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recent gunshot incident<\/a> has further raised this card’s profile; the story has been making the rounds among the Pok\u00e9mon TCG community well beyond the original Reddit thread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Release Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although there is an English version of this card, there isn’t one specifically for the Midsummer’s Pika Pika Alola Festival version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sale price of an Incineroar (SM-P Promotional Cards 113\/SM-P) card is 1,430 JPY (~US$10) as of the latest figures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
