Originally released to celebrate the grand opening of the Pok\u00e9mon Center Tokyo DX, the Cherry Blossom Afro Pikachu promotional card quickly became a must-have for Pikachu collectors\u2014many of whom couldn\u2019t pass up the chance to add it to their collections when it debuted in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Cherry Blossom Afro Pikachu (SM-P Promotional Cards 211\/SM-P)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Exclusively released in Japan on March 14, 2018, the Cherry Blossom Afro Pikachu card was launched to commemorate the grand opening of the Pok\u00e9mon Center Tokyo DX. To receive this card for free, customers needed to purchase at least five booster packs at any participating Pok\u00e9mon Center or Pok\u00e9mon Store during the promotional campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Illustrated by Kouki Saitou, one of the major illustrators who worked with Pok\u00e9mon TCG and featured in our “Top 10 Pok\u00e9mon TCG Illustrators of All Time article<\/a>“, the card portrays Pikachu adorned with a cherry blossom-themed afro, symbolizing the iconic sakura season in Japan. This design uniquely combines Pikachu’s charm with traditional Japanese cultural elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of its limited distribution and specific purchase requirements, the Cherry Blossom Afro Pikachu promotional card has become one of the most highly sought-after Pikachu promos in the history of the Pok\u00e9mon TCG. Adding to its exclusivity, the card features the Pok\u00e9mon Center Tokyo DX logo\u2014emphasizing its status as a commemorative promotional release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
