Devin Booker is nearing the end of his special edition sneaker releases for the season, but he might have saved the best for last. During the Phoenix team’s only game at Madison Square Garden this year, Booker sported a unique Nike Book 1 PE. The Nike Book 1 \u201cJewel Swoosh NYC\u201d PE draws inspiration from the original 1997 Air Force 1 Jewel Swoosh colorway, arguably making the Nike Book 1 the standout for exclusive player shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1997 Air Force 1 “Jewel”, a distinctive version of the classic ’82 model, featured a redesigned, smaller logo with a raised, jewel-like appearance, which became its namesake. This “Jewel” Swoosh later appeared on other Nike models like the Cortez and Air Max 1, revitalizing those styles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given the visual similarities between the Nike Book 1 and the Air Force 1, the transition of the 1997 Jewel Swoosh NYC aesthetic was seamless. Booker’s game-worn shoes showcased the same dark navy upper with white laces and midsole, along with the translucent orange Jewel Swoosh. The iconic Nike NYC logo, created by John Jay, was also present on the front of the shoe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
