The New Balance 1000, a cult-favorite silhouette from the brand\u2019s archives, made a triumphant return in 2024\u2014but it\u2019s not stopping there. Already poised for a stylish upgrade, the retro runner is set to receive a sleek collaborative makeover courtesy of Japanese lifestyle powerhouse BEAMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first glance, this collab sticks to the shoe\u2019s signature black palette\u2014a shade that\u2019s been done and redone in both GRs and past partnerships. But look closer, BEAMS\u2019 genius reveals itself in the details. Each shoe is a study in deliberate asymmetry: The right pair features a crisp white TPU “N” logo on the lateral side, while the left flips the script with black on its outer panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The material play is even wilder\u2014one side serves up textured mesh and suede, while the other contrasts ripstop nylon with glossy patent leather. Even the laces get a futuristic upgrade with 3M hits, and while BEAMS keeps branding whisper-quiet, their signature orange subtly tints the insole\u2019s New Balance script.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BEAMS x New Balance 1000 pre-launches on 10 April at the BEAMS pop-up in LA, with a wider release expected to follow via BEAMS and select retailers. Stay tuned for possible updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
