Back in October 2016, The Pok\u00e9mon Company announced a special crossover with Nintendo\u2019s Super Mario series, celebrating the shared legacy of these gaming giants. As part of this collaboration, exclusive merchandise and two promotional Pok\u00e9mon TCG cards were released, featuring Pikachu dressed as Mario and Luigi. These Super Mario Pikachu cards were only available in Japan, sold as part of special Mario Pikachu Box Sets<\/a> at Pok\u00e9mon Centers. This resulted a long queue at the Pok\u00e9mon Centers in Japan even before the stores are open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to its limited release, crossover appeal, and Pikachu\u2019s enduring popularity, the Super Mario Pikachu promotional cards has skyrocketed in value over the years. With the sealed Mario Pikachu Box Sets becoming increasingly rare and many scams surfacing on the internet, a PSA 10-graded copy of this card is going for 4-digit prices in the secondary market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
