As a card from the “F” block of the Pok\u00e9mon TCG, Lance from Paradigm Trigger [S12] has already been rotated out of Pok\u00e9mon TCG tournament play in Japan and will be internationally on 11 April 2025. Interestingly, although Paradigm Trigger [S12] was released in October 2022, it took more than two years for this card to become impactful in the metagame\u2014it didn’t really take off until Champions League Osaka in December 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Lance (Paradigm Trigger [S12] 122\/098)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This Supporter card depicting the Dragon-type specialist from the Kanto region’s Elite Four is used in just one deck: the Dragapult ex deck. It allows the player to retrieve three Dragon-type Pok\u00e9mon cards from the deck before showing them to the opponent, then shuffling the deck. In the Dragapult ex deck, Lance is primarily used to either fill the player’s Bench with multiple copies of the Dreepy card from Mask of Change [SV6] or evolve them into the Drakloak and Dragapult ex<\/a> cards from the same set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most valuable of the three versions of this card from Paradigm Trigger [S12] is the Hyper Rare (HR) version. It’s a rainbow holofoil version of the card’s Super Rare (SR) version; the background of the card has been replaced with the rainbow holofoil. Many collectors will be drawn to this card as well not only for its rarity, but also for the nostalgia factor in play as Lance is the strongest of the Elite Four members of the first generation’s Pok\u00e9mon Red, Blue, and Yellow video games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The English version of this card is card 206\/195 from Silver Tempest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A copy of a Lance (Paradigm Trigger [S12] 122\/098) card goes for 3,770 JPY (~US$25).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
