A staple of the Black\/Yellow Luffy and the Black Lucci deck which recently won the ONE PIECE Card Game Championship 2024 World Final, Ice Age, a card from Paramount War [OP-02], was one of the most potent Event cards in the entire metagame before finally falling under BANDAI’s banhammer. From 1 April 2025, this card will no longer be allowed to be used in tournament play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Ice Age (Paramount War [OP-02] OP02-117)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This card has a simple yet extremely powerful effect: during the player’s turn, the player can reduce the cost of an opposing Character card by 5. In combination with other black cards\u2014especially some of those used in the Black Lucci deck\u2014the use of Ice Age made it too easy for players to pick up easy KO’s on opposing high-cost Character cards and thus gain an excessive advantage before the opponent would’ve had the chance to properly set up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although this card’s rarity is only Uncommon (UC), there’s a version of it that is a decent get for collectors\u2014its textured foil version. Furthermore, its newfound status as a banned card might cause collectors’ interest in it to surge and its price to climb accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This card is already out in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A copy of a textured foil Ice Age (Paramount War [OP-02] OP02-117) card sells for 1,260 JPY (~US$8.48).
