The Manga Rare card of the Anime 25th Collection [EB-02]<\/a> depicted One Piece protagonist Monkey D. Luffy and was, as is always the case with Manga Rare cards, far and away the biggest pickup of the most recent ONE PIECE Card Game set. However, this wasn’t the only Luffy card of note in the set; there was also another Luffy card in it which has drawn a significant amount of interest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Monkey D. Luffy (Anime 25th Collection [EB-02] EB02-010)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This card with a rarity of L-P has a Parallel Art illustration that makes use of an ominous, almost sinister color scheme to indicate that the Straw Hat Pirates’ captain is primed for combat against an off-screen foe. The left side of the card has been drawn to make it seem as though a ray of light is shining on Luffy’s right side, creating a visual contrast with the other half of the card which remains dark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What’s interesting about this card is that it provides an inverse of the usual “female character value boost”. This time around, it’s a male character who has been drawn in such a way as to be obvious “eye candy”\u2014a rare occurrence, but one which will certainly attract a sizable chunk of collectors. It would not be surprising to see this card purchased by more women on a proportional basis compared to most other cards for that reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Release Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This card’s English version will be released in May 2025 alongside the rest of the Anime 25th Collection [EB-02].<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The price of a Monkey D. Luffy (Anime 25th Collection [EB-02] EB02-010) card of L-P rarity has a sale price of 7,000 JPY (~US$45).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
