The Lucario VSTAR Starter Set [SLL] was released in February 2022. This eighth-generation Pok\u00e9mon TCG Starter Set contained two Full Art cards; a Lucario V and the titular Lucario VSTAR card. Both would go on to receive promotional reprints and be distributed via two campaigns which ran in late 2022; the card shown here is the reprint of the Lucario V card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Lucario V (S-P Promotional Cards 304\/S-P)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first of the two campaigns related to this card was as a prize in a Lucario HR Competition tournament. From 30 September to 31 December 2022, Pok\u00e9mon Centers and participating Pok\u00e9mon Card Gym stores across Japan would hold tournaments featuring shortened versions of ordinary Pok\u00e9mon TCG matches; these had the players use 40 cards per deck instead of 60 and play to four Prize cards instead of six. Anyone who placed within the top four of a Lucario HR Competition tournament would be awarded this card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During those same dates, it was also possible to obtain the card by participating in the Sealed Battle at Home Campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To participate, one would have to apply on the Pok\u00e9mon Card Game Trainers Website with a Player ID, registered email address, and a valid code for the deck used; the code could only be obtained by building the deck in the website’s Deck Construction section. All applicants would be entered into a lottery to win one of 6,000 promotional cards; 2,000 of them were copies of the promotional reprint of the Lucario VSTAR card while the remaining 4,000 were copies of this card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to this Lucario V card’s exclusivity and limited availability period, its value has skyrocketed since the end of the two campaigns. Additionally, Lucario is among the most popular Pok\u00e9mon; this undoubtedly elevates demand for the card. In terms of imagery, the card’s Full Art illustration depicts the Aura Pok\u00e9mon standing in front of a vortex with a white outline around it. It can be deemed as a “prequel” to the illustration on the Lucario V card from the Lucario VSTAR Starter Set [SLL] because Lucario V is shown here gearing up to throw a punch\u2014which it actually does on the other card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The English version of this card is card SWSH213 from the SWSH Black Star Promos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A copy of a Lucario V (S-P Promotional Cards 304\/S-P) card costs 30,000 JPY (~US$198).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
