Given the prevalence of Monkey D. Luffy’s Gear 5 form which has already become a pop culture icon despite having been revealed as recently as March 2022, it’s easy to forget that it’s even called “Gear 5” because of Luffy’s four preceding forms as well as how impactful some of the prior Gears’ reveals were.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Gear 4 was first shown in the Dressrosa Saga, the One Piece fandom was left stunned\u2014and it’s that moment which this card from the newly released ONE PIECE Card Game set Royal Blood [OP-10]<\/a> captures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Monkey D. Luffy (Royal Blood [OP-10] OP10-118) <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The illustration on this Secret Rare Parallel (SEC-P) card depicts Luffy in the Boundman variant of his Gear 4 form. When fighting in his Boundman form, Luffy coats his arms, legs, and upper torso in Armament Haki; his general body size also increases greatly, but he is also no longer able to remain in place, instead bounding on the spot all the time\u2014hence the name “Boundman”. Luffy first took on this form when he fought Donquixote Doflamingo\u2014the climax of the arc around which Royal Blood [OP-10] is primarily based.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While not quite at the same level as many of the other cards which have depicted the One Piece protagonist, this card nonetheless has its own appeal as not many cards have featured Luffy in his Gear 4 form. On top of that, the fact that it’s Luffy in his Gear 4 form also has relevance to the ongoing storyline in the manga because it was recently revealed that (SPOILER) at the most recent point of the story, Luffy’s power level has progressed to such an extent that he is now able to use Gear 4 attacks in his base form<\/mark>. The English release of this card will take place in March 2025 alongside the rest of Royal Blood [OP-10].<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The price of a Monkey D. Luffy (Royal Blood [OP-10] OP10-118) card of SEC-P rarity is 2,600 JPY (~US$17).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
