[Update 12 Sep 2022] Exciting news for those that prefer their hiking gear to be all-black \u2014 a tonal black colorway is joining the Nike Air Max 90 GORE-TEX family. Constructed of similar technical elements, the differentiating factor in this colorway are the pops of “Safety Orange” at the lateral GORE-TEX panel, insole and AIR stitching on the heel. Nike wants you to stomp into the Fall season without fear of any puddles, rain or snow with their Air Max 90 GORE-TEX. As its name suggests, the Tinker Hatfield-designed model with the iconic air bubble sole will come with GORE-TEX waterproof protection that’s been a trendy inclusion in many silhouettes this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two colorways are geared up with this windproof but breathable material \u2014 “Cargo Khaki” and “Photon Dust”. In the more typical trail-ready “Cargo Khaki” colorway, the Nike Air Max 90 is outfitted with mixed leather in predominantly gray and black. Accenting this relatively simple base is a cargo khaki green panels and a bright yellow partially-concealed Swoosh. GORE-TEX branding also comes in the same lemon yellow on the see-through panel, which reveals an aubergine purple underneath.<\/span><\/p>\n

In contrast, the Nike Air Max 90 “Photon Dust” seems more like a lifestyle shoe. A cloudy white and dusty gray color washes over the leather panels while GORE-TEX branding rests subtly on the lateral panel. A hit of black lands on the outsole, giving the shoe extra dimension. It is only in the insole that a pop of lime green appears alongside the Nike Air branding. The release of such an easily-tainted colorway is a testament to the Swoosh’s trust in the GORE-TEX’s ability to fend off weather damage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both the Nike Air Max 90 GORE-TEX “Cargo Khaki” and “Photon Dust” have no concrete release dates, but it is expected that they will drop when Fall hits. It will likely retail for US$170. Be sure to keep SNKRDUNK Magazine in your bookmarks to be updated with the latest details.<\/span><\/p>\n
