Dark Magician of Chaos is a card which has been prominently featured throughout the history of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG. On four occasions, it’s been a cover card\u2014evidence of its massive popularity among the Yu-Gi-Oh fanbase. As such, its new Quarter Century Secret Rare iteration from Quarter Century Limited Pack<\/a> was a card that garnered much interest from Yu-Gi-Oh TCG fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Dark Magician of Chaos (Quarter Century Limited Pack QCLP-JP018) <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Many of the cards of the Dark Magician archetype are highly popular; Dark Magician of Chaos isn’t an exception to this. It’s one of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG’s most iconic cards for a reason; otherwise, it wouldn’t have been featured as the cover card on so many occasions. There’s a bonus for long-time fans who played the 1999 PlayStation video game Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories as well; the card’s illustration is directly taken from the back cover of the video game’s official Japanese guidebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While neither currently banned nor restricted from tournament play in any way, this card does have an interesting history in that regard as well. That’s because in September 2008, Dark Magician Chaos was completely banned from tournament decks globally. It wasn’t until April 2015 in Japan and Asia-Pacific and April 2016 elsewhere that this card was once again green-lighted for tournament play. This card was banned due to the results of certain First Turn Kills (FTK) and infinite loops related to it. Its unban came after an edit made to the card’s effect in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
