It’s usually the case that Pok\u00e9mon TCG decks which are designed to be easy for players to understand and learn how to use are unviable in tournament gameplay. The chief examples of this are the pre-constructed decks from Creatures Inc. themselves; though they can be played as-is, anyone who takes such a deck to a tournament is almost certain to become a member of the “0 and” club. However, this isn’t the case with the Ceruledge ex deck; though it’s fairly simple for even new players to wrap their heads around, it’s nonetheless capable of making an impact in actual gameplay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strategy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is a deck that hits hard and fast. Its titular card from Stellar Tera Type Starter Set Ceruledge ex [SVLS] needs just one Fire Energy card to attack with Abyssal Flames, an attack that increases in power as the player accumulates Energy cards in the discard pile. Thanks to the deck’s high Energy card count as well as its multiple card-discarding mechanisms, it’s relatively simple to power up Abyssal Flames to a point at which it’s unleashing major damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cards such as Radiant Greninja from Battle Region [S9a]<\/a> and Squawkabilly ex from Snow Hazard [SV2P] don’t normally have their card-discarding capabilities emphasized\u2014but that’s not the case with this deck. Concealed Cards, Radiant Greninja’s Ability, allows the player to discard an Energy card; it serves as a draw engine as well by then enabling the player to draw two more cards. Squawkabilly ex’s single-use Ability of Squawk and Seize, meanwhile, lets the player discard everything in hand on the first turn before drawing six more cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another card which is of great assistance to this deck is Night Stretcher from Night Wanderer [SV6a]. Since this deck requires the frequent discarding of cards, Night Stretcher is used to retrieve any cards in the discard pile which might be needed at that point or going forward. It’ll usually be used to pick up a Ceruledge ex or Fire Energy card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Price<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Buying all the cards in a Ceruledge ex deck will cost a minimum of 10,770 JPY (~US$69). (Nice.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
