The Pok\u00e9mon Players’ Club, which ran between 2003 and 2006, served as a method by which regulars could obtain various promotional third-generation Pok\u00e9mon TCG cards if they fulfilled certain criteria. Some of these promotional cards were only obtainable by those who had accumulated at least a certain amount of EXP. The highest possible EXP total was 70,000; the card which could be obtained at that point was a promotional Umbreon \u2606 card. Almost two decades later, that Umbreon \u2606 card was brought back for the Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition [S8a-P] to commemorate the Pok\u00e9mon TCG’s 25th anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prestige as well as the rarity of the original Gen 3 promotional card are the primary drivers behind the value of the 25th anniversary rehash. As has been mentioned, only Pok\u00e9mon Players’ Club who had accumulated the maximum EXP were eligible to receive the original Umbreon \u2606 card. On top of that, the Pok\u00e9mon Players’ Club was discontinued in 2006; as such, only a limited number of copies of the original version of the card are in existence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since this is a card which was re-released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Pok\u00e9mon TCG, the card has an inherent level of value due to the occasion. On the right side of the card, the logo of the Pok\u00e9mon TCG’s 25th anniversary is clearly visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Umbreon has consistently ranked as the most popular of all eight Eeveelutions; this adds further demand to the card. On top of that, as is implied by the “\u2606” in the card’s name, the Umbreon \u2606 card depicts the Shiny version of Umbreon; the fact that it’s a Shiny Umbreon on the card adds extra value to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In English, this card is card 17\/17 from Celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sale price of an Umbreon \u2606 (Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition [S8a-P] 012\/025) card is 4,800 JPY (~US$31).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
