So the Korn x adidas Originals Drop 3<\/a> was just released on 31 October 2024. If you’re uninitiated, the hype surrounding this drop might have you scratching your Head (get it? Actually if you aren’t privy this probably flew over your Head).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, if you’re interested in copping a pair of the Superstars or any of the apparel from the collection, we understand that you might want to understand a bit of the lore, and the significance behind the collection. Let’s get to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Korn<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Stylized as Ko\u042fn, the Nu-Metal band was originally formed in 1993, but their self-titled debut album dropped on 11 October 1994. If you’ve done the math, the album\u2014and in no small way, by extension, the significance of the band itself\u2014both turn 30 this year, making the Korn x adidas Originals Drop 3 an homage to what can be considered the band’s roots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Korn’s affinity with adidas isn’t something new; so much so that they named a 1997 track after the brand\u2014though the song’s not actually about adidas, but is rather a song with the central theme of fornication. Nevertheless, ever since Korn’s debut album, the band has been brazen about their love for the brand through consistently rocking apparel and shoes from Three Stripes; hitting the stage in shelltoes and other adidas silhouettes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the Superstar (quite literally) in the Korn x adidas Originals Drop 3 collection does the band and brand justice. It manages to capture both of their essences through thoughtful design details, making it a real collector’s item, right down to the box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed to look like equipment boxes roadies help bands lug around on tour, the shoebox is adorned with elements that further lend to its authentic look through the artwork of faded stickers and the band’s name, with “handles” on the sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The paper inside bears Korn and adidas logos, and you’ll be greeted with an assortment of stickers. But alas, the main event, the Korn x adidas Originals Superstar “Black\/White” is in no way demure, making a grand entrance with a bushel of Three Stripes attached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These Three-Stripes each have designs tied to a Korn album and are able to be slotted into the Superstar’s lateral sides, making the pair somewhat of a chameleon. The wide variety of colors means your shoe can look like a new pair just by switching the Stripes. The other details throughout the shoe further add to its overall appeal\u2014elements that fans of Korn will appreciate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the collection’s name suggests, this is the band’s third drop with adidas, with Drop 2<\/a> having arrived not too long ago, on 15 May 2024. It features the Supermodified and Campus silhouettes. Then, there’s also 2023’s drop<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
