Unquestionably, one of the most iconic Pok\u00e9mon TCG cards of all time is the Charizard card from Expansion Pack\u2014the very first Pok\u00e9mon TCG set ever released all the way back in 1996. As such, when Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition [S8a-P] was launched to honor the 25th anniversary of the Pok\u00e9mon TCG, that Charizard card was one of the obvious candidates to receive a modern-day glow-up, bringing it into Gen 8 and introducing the card to a new generation of Pok\u00e9mon fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should go without saying that the primary driving force behind this card’s value is nostalgia. This card, including its illustration, is almost an exact replica of the iconic 1996 card which sent shockwaves not only through the Pok\u00e9mon TCG sphere, but throughout the TCG world in general upon its release. However, there are some subtle differences which further elevate the card’s value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The card’s holofoil background as well as the card’s border are different from those of the 1996 version; the new version are more in line with those of similar cards from 2021. Additionally, the card has a logo on its right side showing that this card was reprinted to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Pok\u00e9mon TCG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Pok\u00e9mon TCG cards usually experience a price boost if they are released in conjunction with a specific occasion; this Charizard card is no different\u2014especially in this case because of the fact that the 25th anniversary of the Pok\u00e9mon TCG is its biggest milestone to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
