A card commonly handed out as a prize card at ONE PIECE Card Game tournaments around the world, the Super Rare Parallel (SR-P) version of the Cavendish card from the Extra Booster Memorial Collection [EB-01] is among the most well-known of all ONE PIECE Card Game cards among the fanbase. That, however, is just one reason why this card has become the draw that it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As has been mentioned, this card is best known as a tournament prize card. As such, many copies of this Cavendish card bear a logo or inscription affirming this status. Thus, there’s a layer of inherent prestige added to such cards; this elevates the card’s value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This card also has a significant level of gameplay viability. It’s an important piece of the Green Bonney deck<\/a> which has been a staple of the metagame ever since the deck’s Leader card was released as part of 500 Years in the Future [OP-07]. In that deck, Cavendish is usually played in the mid-game. The idea is to use the card to activate two DON!! cards while also functioning as removal bait against opposing Black decks. Cavendish is best paired with the Hody Jones card from Wings of the Captain [OP-06] because of the combined pressure the two cards put on the opponent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although Cavendish is a male character, this card nevertheless benefits from the “female character boost” as well. That’s because Cavendish was specifically designed to have feminine facial features\u2014so much so that in the manga, there are even straight men who are attracted to him, not realizing that Cavendish is, in fact, a man. Buyers who might not be as well-versed with the One Piece canon might assume the same at first glance, inadvertently jacking up this card’s value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
