Kevin Durant and Nike Basketball have written the next chapter of their storied partnership with the introduction of the KD 18 signature shoe, following the plethora of colorways of the KD 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KD 18 pays homage to another iconic Nike model\u2014the Air Humara, which debuted in 1997. However, an official confirmation remains elusive. The design choice could be a subtle nod to Durant’s formative years, potentially referencing a shoe he admired or wore during his childhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond aesthetics, the KD 18 boasts a compelling technical story. Sneaker Files’ trusted sources at Nike have provided insights into the shoe’s innovative construction. The upper features a dynamic interplay between a TPU cage, breathable open mesh on the toe box, and a luxurious suede overlay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cushioning duties are handled by a combination of a Cushlon midsole engineered for optimal shock absorption and a DOT weld heel Strobel that provides a responsive and comfortable step. Additionally, Air Zoom technology in the forefoot ensures explosive responsiveness during Durant’s signature on-court maneuvers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
