The Noivern ex card from Shiny Treasure ex [SV4a] is a card which is often used as a supporting defensive piece in a fairly wide range of Pok\u00e9mon TCG decks such as the Snorlax deck, Pidgeot ex deck<\/a>, and Regidrago VSTAR deck, among others. However, it wasn’t until the recent emergence of the Cornerstone Mask Ogerpon\/Noivern ex deck that the card became a viable deck centerpiece as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Noivern ex’s standout feature is its Covert Flight attack. While 70 damage for two Energy cards is a reasonable damage output, the bigger point of note is the attack’s additional effect. Following the use of Covert Flight, Noivern ex can’t be damaged by an opposing Basic Pok\u00e9mon on the opponent’s next turn. This coupled with Noivern ex’s massive total HP of 260 makes the Sound Wave Pok\u00e9mon’s Pok\u00e9mon-ex form one of the toughest Pok\u00e9mon to bring down in the metagame right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding to this, Noivern ex has no weakness as well as a free retreat cost. This level of flexibility and mobility is typically rare among defensive lynchpins in the Pok\u00e9mon TCG meta and are among the main reasons why even before it became a deck centerpiece, Noivern ex was part of several other decks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The version of Noivern ex from Shiny Treasure ex [SV4a] is a Shiny Super Rare (SSR) card that depicts the Shiny form of the Flying\/Dragon-type Pok\u00e9mon; the fact that it’s the Shiny form shown elevates the card’s value. The sparkles and stars in the background directly reference the Pok\u00e9mon video games; specifically, the visual effect displayed when a Shiny Pok\u00e9mon is sent into combat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
