[Update 18 Dec 2024] It’s now known that the Japanese version of this card is card 112\/106 from Super Electric Breaker [SV8].<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, this card has now become a key component of the Miraidon ex deck<\/a>. Magneton’s Ability of Overvolt Discharge sacrifices itself to allow the player to attach up to three Basic Energy cards from the discard pile to the player’s Electric-type Pok\u00e9mon in any combination, making this card the deck’s primary Energy-ramping mechanism.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the products which will accompany the launch of upcoming English Pok\u00e9mon TCG set Surging Sparks [SSP]<\/a> on 8 November 2024 will be the Surging Sparks Elite Trainer Box. A card which will be exclusive to the Elite Trainer Box has been revealed; it will be a promotional Magneton card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Magneton (SVP Black Star Promos 159)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This card is an illustration rare version of the Magneton card which will be in Surging Sparks [SSP]; that card’s Japanese version will be in Supercharged Breaker [SV8]. However, this card will be much more coveted because it’s much rarer than the other card which will come in a rarity of Uncommon (U). Additionally, since this is a promotional card which only comes as part of the Surging Sparks Elite Trainer Box, there’s an inherent degree of exclusivity which adds to the card’s general desirability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The card’s Full Art illustration depicts the Electric\/Steel-type Pok\u00e9mon using its Ability of Overvolt Discharge. The holofoil that covers the card causes the visual to appear more striking by emphasizing the electrical energy that surrounds Magneton as it unleashes a powerful electric current.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be two versions of this card; the second will come with the Surging Sparks Pok\u00e9mon Center Elite Trainer Box. The latter version will have the Pok\u00e9mon Center logo on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Release Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Thus far, only the non-promotional version of this card has been confirmed for release in Japanese. This specific Magneton (SVP Black Star Promos 159) card, however, is only so far known to be released in English. A retail price hasn’t yet been confirmed either.
