The St\u00fcssy surfman is relatively simple in its makeup \u2014 a human icon carrying a surfboard, as a nod to its SoCal roots \u2014 but has mostly been phased out in favour of the brand’s wordmark. Its scarce appearances are usually reserved for streetwear and apparel pieces, likely due to the bulky nature of its design. However, in the streetwear brand’s most recent link up with Converse, the surfman has been pushed into the spotlight on the Chuck 70.<\/p>\n
In lofted embroidery style, the retro surfman graphic appears prominently on the high-top’s collar in black. It is stitched onto a hemp canvas upper with unvarnished foxing, which was the same material that St\u00fcssy utilised in its previous collaboration with Converse. This time around, though, the hemp material is dyed a vibrant strawberry pink. More branding elements land on the tongue, which features Converse’s All-Star transformed with St\u00fcssy’s curly type. Interestingly, the Chuck Taylor ankle patch has been left blank, but a hidden classic heat transfer Chuck patch can be found at the interior medial.<\/p>\n
