New Balance is like that one friend in coming-of-age films that sidles up to a Plain Jane (or John), gives them a makeover and suddenly they’re the hottest kid on the block. At least, that’s what it seems like given the Boston-originated brand’s ability to refresh their older silhouettes into coveted new releases. This is especially evident in the 1906R, which we’ve previously dubbed a “more obscure model”<\/a> but are now rethinking this status with how involved they’ve become in New Balance’s collaborative and inline roster.<\/p>\n

Case in point: this latest New Balance 1906R “Silver\/Gold” that transcends the silhouette’s reputation of “dad shoe” to that of an elevated and luxe “daddy shoe” (we jest). Bearing the brand’s founding year, it is no wonder that the design has been given a precious metal revamp \u2013 from the heel to the tip of the toe. Atop the usual sporty white mesh are overlays of chrome silver streaks while the N logo is piped with a delicate gold. This Silver\/Gold combination carries to the sole, where the sole pillars take on a dulled version of the colors. Overall, the shoe exudes a futuristic sophistication that perpetuates year 2906 more so than 1906.<\/p>\n

Tech-wise, those that enjoy the 2000s running shoe performance will still be able to find it in this New Balance 1906R Silver Gold. The sole combines both ABZORB and N-ergy cushioning to absorb shock as your feet chase the pavements, Adele-style. Similarly, the arch is reinforced with TPU material for greater stability in your daily wear. N-lock technology strings the laces through N logo, ensuring that laces stay in place as you are on the move.<\/p>\n
