Trafalgar Law has been at the forefront of discussions about the ONE PIECE Card Game metagame as of late. This is because the Trafalgar Law Leader card from The Three Captains [ST-10]<\/a> has just been banned from tournament play after decks built around it had been shown to be excessively powerful. This has arguably had a spill-over effect, leading this card from Emperors in the New World [OP-09] to end up being one of the set’s better pickups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About<\/strong> Trafalgar Law (Emperors in the New World [OP-09] OP09-069)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The card’s Parallel Art illustration shows the captain of the Heart Pirates seated while holding Kikoku, his massive cursed sword, in his left hand. The background has imagery of pulsing energy covering it, referring to the power of Law’s awakened techniques that make use of Kikoku. The pulsing energy is likely that derived from Law’s K-ROOM technique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of Law’s signature tattoos can clearly be seen in the card’s illustration. These include the heart shape on his chest, the modified Heart Pirates logos on his forearms, and the most iconic of them all: the word “DEATH” across his fingers\u2014a direct reference to his epithet as the “Surgeon of Death”. This even ties into the fact that he’s shown with Kikoku\u2014many of his attacks while wielding it have names which are surgically-themed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Release Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The English translation of this card drops in December 2024 as does the rest of Emperors in the New World [OP-09].<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Trafalgar Law (Emperors in the New World [OP-09] OP09-069) card carries a price tag of 2,000 JPY (~US$14).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
