In a move that came as a surprise to some within the ONE PIECE Card Game community, the Enies Lobby card from Pillars of Strength [OP-03] was named as one of two cards no longer permitted in tournament play in Japan and Asia-Pacific with effect from 1 September 2024. Although not everyone agreed that Enies Lobby was a truly “broken” card, it was clearly one of the most dominant cards in the metagame\u2014dominant enough to convince BANDAI to act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Enies Lobby (Pillars of Strength [OP-03] OP03-098)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Stage cards, especially those which merely have a rarity of Common, almost never see much interest build around them. However, now that this card has been banished from tournament decks, it’s likely to have more of a reputation about it now. Only six other ONE PIECE Card Game cards are banned from tournaments; this exceptionally rare status is likely to cause interested buyers to flock to this card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enies Lobby, the in-universe headquarters of Cipher Pol Organization CP9, was also the setting of one of the key story arcs in the One Piece manga. The arc also included one of the most iconic scenes in the entire manga in Chapter 398. Therefore, those who closely follow the manga might be drawn to this card\u2014especially after the increased publicity that the ban has brought to the card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This card is already out in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Owing to the fact that up until now there hasn’t been anything noteworthy about this card at all, an Enies Lobby (Pillars of Strength [OP-03] OP03-098) card is among the cheapest of all ONE PIECE Card Game cards, coming in at just 30 JPY (~US$0.20) per copy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
