[Update 9 Nov] <\/strong>A release date of 18th November has been confirmed for the Nike Air Trainer 1 \u201cTokyo 2003\u201d. Set to release alongside the Nike Air Force 1 Mid \u201cTokyo 2003\u201d<\/a>, the collection will be made available via Nike SNKRS and selected retailers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kanye once rapped, “I made ‘Jesus Walks’ I’m never going to hell.” Nike can say they have Tinker Hatfield, they’re never going to fail. They’re nonpareil when it comes to an expansive catalogue of retro silhouettes. This in large part, is thanks to Tinker Hatfield. As it does with the Jordans and the Mowabb, his design DNA will continue to live on through the Air Trainer 1.<\/p>\n

Now celebrating its 35th year in the market, the “Tokyo 2003” is an homage to Japanese culture, and some of its best days, when premium materials were more common on sneakers. Special anniversary pairs are always fun for fans of each model, and this one is just as much.<\/p>\n

This iteration is primarily dressed in black and white with magenta hits as an added flair. Particularly on the vamp, the top eyelet, the heel counter,  and the outsole. Perforations are present through most of the white base, as tumbled black leather is laid over on the mudguard and vamp.<\/p>\n

Crocodile textured leather on the Swoosh, forefoot and heel takes it to premium territory along with the embossed branding on the tongue. The “TYO ’03” motif is embellished as a hangtag and embossment on the lateral heel.<\/p>\n

A release date hasn’t been announced at the time of writing but you can expect an update from us when the time comes.<\/p>\n
