Early this year, Nike reintroduced the Air Pegasus 2K5<\/a>, likely inspired by the success of retro models like the Zoom Vomero 5<\/a>. While the 2K5 revival has generated interest, it hasn’t quite captured the same level of excitement. To reinvigorate the line, Nike is introducing the Air Pegasus Wave in Fall 2024, a contemporary reimagining of the classic silhouette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nike Air Pegasus Wave features a dramatically redesigned quarter panel with a prominent TPU cage that extends through the midsole. The forefoot has also undergone a transformation, replacing layered overlays with sublimated mesh and patent leather accents. The heel is more pronounced, combining padded mesh with leather cutouts and a bold branding element. Other subtle changes include a wider mesh collar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This approach to revamping a retro runner is reminiscent of Nike’s work on the Air Max Plus Drift<\/a> and Air Max 90 Drift, which modernized classic designs using synthetic materials and reflective details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Release Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
