When it started, the fourth generation was coming to a close but at the decade\u2019s end, Gen 8 had just begun. With three full generations as well as portions of two covered during the decade, the 2010s saw its share of some of the  most valuable Pok\u00e9mon cards to have ever been sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s a list of the 20 cards from the 2010s which generated the highest prices upon sale. This list is ranked by actual prices when sold, not projected or theoretical prices. First launched as a package deal with the March 2014 issue of animanga magazine CoroCoro, this card is notable for having CoroCoro\u2019s dragon mascot watermark behind the attack text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the specific case of this card, the English version is a bigger catch than the Japanese. Being a promotional card that commemorated a milestone, it\u2019s no wonder that this card sold for as much as it did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A common theme throughout this list will understandably be \u201ccommemorative cards\u201d as they were created for a specific occasion. Another contributing factor to the card\u2019s value was the fact that the card was released during the seventh generation\u2014the peak of Mimikyu\u2019s popularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TAG TEAM GX cards like this one will also make multiple appearances on this list. As such, any mega-rare card depicting the Psychic-type Legendary duo would be likely to become one of the biggest pulls of its era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The version of this card with a rarity of HR ended up being the pick of its four original versions from Miracle Twin [SM11]. Surprised?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When a copy of a Latias &amp; Latios GX card of SR rarity from Tag Bolt [SM9] sold for US$2,000, it set a new record for sale price of a TAG TEAM GX card which to this day hasn\u2019t been topped. The card\u2019s standout feature is its stunning Full Art illustration in which the Eon duo are shown craning their necks to form a heart with the space in between.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The illustration also alludes to the close bond between the two Legendaries\u2014something which was made most evident in Pok\u00e9mon anime movie Pok\u00e9mon Heroes. That fact alone caused it to fetch a massive sale price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s actually an even rarer version of this card which, if a sale were ever to be documented, would cause the card to move up a few spots on the list. Charizard cards are almost always highlights of their respective sets\u2014even more so when the card in question has a rarity of HR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charizard GX is also the most expensive Pok\u00e9mon GX card ever sold for a reason\u2014it\u2019s perhaps the biggest pull of the entire seventh generation.
