It was launched as the cover card of Structure Deck: Roar of the Sea Emperor. More than 12 years later, that card has mainly been left untouched in most ways. It hasn’t been reprinted in any sets since and it was only with the recent release of Rage of the Abyss that it received an upgraded form.

About Poseidra Abyss, the Atlantean Dragon Deity (Rage of the Abyss ROTA-JP043)

It’s that fact that might serve as the biggest selling point regarding Poseidra Abyss, the Atlantean Dragon Deity. Those who’ve been following the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG for many years will recognize this card’s links to the card from all those years ago as well as the fact that the original Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon is finally receiving an upgraded version.

The illustration of this card that can come in Quarter Century Secret Rare also contains a reference to Yu-Gi-Oh’s canonical material. The red jewels on the character’s shoulder armor as well as the character’s secondary heads are based on those of Lost Blue Breaker. The Master Guide 4 card storylines revealed that for Legendary Atlantean Dragon to fully mature into Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon, it had to prey upon Lost Blue Breaker. It’s therefore implied that Poseidra Abyss, the Atlantean Dragon Deity takes it a step further and is Legendary Atlantean Dragon’s true final form.

Release Details

The English version of this card will be released with the rest of Rage of the Abyss on 10 October 2024.

A copy of a Quarter Century Secret Rare Poseidra Abyss, the Atlantean Dragon Deity (Rage of the Abyss ROTA-JP043) card costs 3,000 JPY (~US$20).

In other TCG-related news, check out the Tama card from Romance Dawn [OP-01].
