Several cards in Rage of the Abyss<\/a> allude to the set’s name itself. Abyssrhine the Atlantean Spirit is one of four cards in this newly-released Yu-Gi-Oh TCG Core Booster to feature the word “Abyss” in its name. Of course, this self-referential aspect is far from the only reason why this card is a major get.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For one thing, this card contains several unique traits. It’s the first-ever Atlantean monster card that’s not a Sea Serpent monster. There’s also some canonical continuity shown in the card’s illustration. The neck bracelet that Abyssrhine is holding originally belonged to Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon before coming into possession by Mermail Abyssgaios as an arm bracelet. That bracelet also appears in the illustration of the Abyss-squall card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, as one might expect from a card depicting a mermaid, this card’s illustration of a fairly scantily-clad female character suitable for an underwater setting is sure to draw many people of the main demographic. To further play this up, Abyssrhine is shown at an angle which some may consider somewhat suggestive. Finally, this card can come in the rarity of Quarter Century Secret Rare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This card’s English release date will be 10 October 2024 when the rest of Rage of the Abyss will be out as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A copy of a Quarter Century Secret Rare Abyssrhine the Atlantean Spirit (Rage of the Abyss ROTA-JP017) card goes for 4,000 JPY (~US$26).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
