With acute individualism embedded within the Japanese label’s DNA, appreciators (with LVMH, Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert among the star-studded list) admire the house’s ability to inject unique elevations to streetwear basics. The brains behind the stand-out-from-the-crowd designs churned out by Doublet is Masayaki Ino, who actually started out as a footwear designer \u2014 and the creative’s innovative flair for shoes takes shape in these upcoming Doublet x Suicoke Sandals.<\/p>\n
Not their first rodeo, the two Japanese brands have butted heads a few times to create plush animal slippers (take it literally), pony hair sandals and even leopard-printed sock liners. And animal prints are making a comeback in this latest Doublet x Suicoke iteration, albeit on the velcro straps instead of on the socks.<\/p>\n

Known as the WAS-5abDB Sandal “Bambi”, Suicoke’s signature velcro straps take on a blonde-hued fur patterned that are reminiscent of deer spots. The sock liner prints fur patterns that ends in a darker, blue-toned toe. Likely, this will transform your feet into a pointed hoof-like appearance. A warm clay brown nestles on the midsole and houses the Doublet branding. Driving the animal motif home is the outsole \u2014 it’s designed so that your footprints will mirror that of a chital’s (or spotted deer). As expected of the 2018 LVMH Prize winner, Doublet nails it down to the finest details.<\/p>\n

Dog-lovers will also feel represented in this drop, with an edition sporting dalmation-inspired velcro straps and complementary sockliners (thus the name WAS-5abDB Sandal “Dalmation”). As you would expect, the outsole has puppy paw prints that allow you to leave canine-like imprints everywhere you go.<\/p>\n
For those that prefer a simpler tonal look, two furrier editions in “Beige” and “Black” are also available. Like the Bambi edition, these fluffy sandals also have sock toes that resemble hooves. Plus point: they’re faux fur so no animals were shaved for the drip.<\/p>\n
These Doublet x Suicoke sandals are now available via SLAM JAM. Faux fur WAS-5abDB Sandals in “Beige” and “Black” retails for \u20ac380 (~US$389) while “Bambi” and “Dalmation” are priced at \u20ac335 (~US$343).<\/p>\n
