These Pok\u00e9mon TCG cards not only featured Eevee; they also indirectly spotlighted all of its eight Eeveelutions through the various ponchos donned by each Eevee on each of the eight cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like all the other Poncho-wearing Eevee cards, the one which has Eevee wearing an Espeon poncho implies that the Eevee depicted longs to evolve into its Psychic-type evolution someday. This adds character to the card; in addition, cards that have a narrative of some sort\u2014such as this one\u2014tend to do well with regard to fan appeal. The card&#8217;s background of plaid purple further accentuates the Espeon-related theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A further allusion to Espeon can be seen in the name of the card&#8217;s attack. The question mark in the attack name &#8220;Psychic?&#8221; implies that it&#8217;s actually Eevee &#8220;cosplaying&#8221; as Espeon, as it&#8217;s not the true Psychic attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The set of eight promotional cards capitalized on the fan-favorite status of Eevee and its eight evolutions; for this reason, the card appeals to completionists seeking to collect the entire set.
