To honor the 25th anniversary of the Pok\u00e9mon TCG back in 2021, Creatures Inc. truly pulled out all the stops. Among the launches to commemorate the occasion was that of the Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition [S8a-P] which included, fittingly, 25 promotional cards. It was intended to be an accompaniment to the 25th Anniversary Collection [S8a] subset. Of the cards in the Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition [S8a-P], one of the clear standouts was the Reshiram card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This card is a promotional reprint of the Reshiram card from Black Collection [BW1], half of the first pair of fifth-generation sets released in 2010. The updated eighth-generation version features a Full Art illustration of the Fire\/Dragon-type Legendary standing in front of a plain white background. This represents the concept of duality that it represents when paired with Zekrom, its counterpart Legendary Pok\u00e9mon; the fully black Zekrom is the box Legendary of the Pok\u00e9mon White video game just as Reshiram is the box Legendary of Pok\u00e9mon Black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reshiram’s wings are spread out in such a way that they protrude beyond the borders of the card. The same is true of its foot. This was done to imply how overwhelming and uncontainable the sheer power of Reshiram really is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, there’s a nostalgia factor in play for long-time Pok\u00e9mon TCG fans as well. The illustration used is a 2021 remake of the original Full Art illustration from the Super Rare (SR) card from Black Collection [BW1]. There’ll certainly be many who recognize the call-back; this further enhances the card’s appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In English, this card is 113\/114 from the Celebrations set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sale price of a Reshiram (Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition [S8a-P] 020\/025) card is 6,000 JPY (~US$38).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
