Despite that, it’s had its moments including top-5 finishes at the Arlington and Niagara Falls Regionals as well as the NoHEROES Online Regional and is certainly a deck on the rise in the current ONE PIECE Card Game metagame.

In the early game, a player using the Blue/Purple Reiju deck ought to prioritize GERMA 66 Character cards which enable the player to play a Character card of the same name from the hand or trash at a reduced cost.

The Stage card Kingdom of GERMA from Wings of the Captain [OP-06] is of great help here because it allows the player to select a card with “GERMA” in its type name from the top three cards of the player’s deck, then place it in hand.

Around the mid-game, it’s generally advisable to begin playing high-powered Character cards—now at reduced costs thanks to the effects of prior cards played. Ideally, the player should have ensured having as few DON!! cards on the field as possible.

This is because the effects of Vinsmoke Ichiji and Vinsmoke Niji, two more cards from Wings of the Captain [OP-06], only come into play when the player has an equal or lower number of DON!! cards on the field when compared to those on the opponent’s field.

Ichiji reduces an opposing Character’s Power by 2000 while Niji either KO’s an opposing Character with a cost of 2 or less or returns an opposing Character with a cost of 4 or less to the opponent’s hand.

Finally, in the late game, the time will usually be right to deploy another Wings of the Captain [OP-06] card: Vinsmoke Judge. That card allows the player to play up to 4 Character cards of the GERMA 66 type from the trash as long as they all have different card names and Power of 4000 or less.

Often, this move can serve as the stepping stone to an eventual victory. The more GERMA 66 and Vinsmoke Family cards the player can bring in, the better the chances of a W.

Buying all the cards in a Blue/Purple Reiju deck has a cumulative cost of at least 18,390 JPY (~US$117).

In other TCG-related news, check out the Red Edward Newgate Starter Deck [ST-15].
