A unique triple collaboration is dropping this month. ASICS SportStyle joins forces with Tokyo’s mita sneakers and KEBOZ for a special GEL-LYTE III OG dubbed “TAITO.” This unique triple collaboration brings together ASICS, renowned for its sportswear, mita sneakers, led by creative director Kunii Hideyuki, and KEBOZ, managed by Kenbo, who emphasizes baseball-inspired fashion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GEL-LYTE III OG “TAITO” pays homage to Tokyo’s Taito Ward, drawing inspiration from iconic local landmarks such as Ueno Zoo’s cherry blossoms, the Sumida River, and Sensoji Temple. The sneaker features an original color palette reflecting these spots, utilizing various materials for a distinctive look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally released in 1990, the GEL-LYTE III is known for its innovative “split tongue” design. This version enhances the classic feature with a zipper for improved fit and a quick lace system with a stopper for easy adjustments. Reflective piping adds night-time visibility, while the “KEBOZ” logo on the heel and unique insole graphics highlight the collaboration’s regional ties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ASICS x mita sneakers x KEBOZ GEL-LYTE III OG “TAITO” will be available in “Almond Peach\/Navy” for 19,800 JPY (~US$127), with in-store releases at mita sneakers, KEBOZ, and ASICS on Saturday, 8 June 2024, and online availability starting Monday, 10 June 2024 in Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
