The recent release of Two Legends [OP-08] is likely to bring about a notable shift in the ONE PIECE Card Game metagame. Already the first effects of that shift are taking place; in the weeks and months to come, expect this list to see further changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Red\/Purple Law<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This deck has now clearly established itself as the meta’s most dominant deck. Its standout result in recent weeks was its triumph at the Carta Magica Online Treasure Cup. This was followed by three top-8 placings at the Peoria Regional. Meanwhile on the other side of the planet, the Red\/Purple Law deck has continued to be the standout performer in Flagship Battle and Standard Battle tournaments in both Japan and the Asia-Pacific region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deck’s Leader card, the Trafalgar Law card from The Three Captains [ST-10], is one of the most disruptive cards in the current meta. When it’s played, the player gets to place an opponent\u2019s Character with 3000 power or less at the bottom of the opponent\u2019s deck and follow it up by playing a Character card with a cost of 4 or less from the hand. In certain situations, this can completely flip the balance of the game in the player’s favor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This deck is also known for its highly efficient damage output. That’s because it includes multiple Characters with 5000 power or more. These Characters can be used to launch several attacks on the same turn to inflict major damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Black Lucci<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Black Lucci deck<\/a> is in a rather interesting position because there’s a clear divide between this deck’s status in the East and the West. Despite not having made much headway in tournaments in the West for quite some time, it’s been picking up impressive results in Flagship Battle tournaments across Japan and Southeast Asia. That being said, these regions’ banlists are several months ahead of the rest of the world’s; once the rest of the world is on the same banlists, this deck might see similar usage spikes elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This deck is built around the Rob Lucci card from 500 Years in the Future [OP-07] which serves as its Leader card. By leveraging on that card’s ability to reduce the cost of opposing Characters, players will find it easier to tip the resource advantage in their favour\u2014especially when combining this card with the Gecko Moria card from Wings of the Captain [OP-06].<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To rapidly fill up the player’s trash in order to allow the deck’s full effects to come into play, Finger Gun from the Extra Booster Memorial Collection [EB-01] can be used. Pair it with Stage card Enies Lobby from Pillars of Strength [OP-03] to maximize its non-cost reduction removal capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Black\/Yellow Luffy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Continuing its hot streak, this deck had two top-10 finishes at the Montreal Regional followed by a tournament victory at the NoHEROES Online Treasure Cup in the hands of French player J\u00e9r\u00e9my Wattellier. Various tournaments in Southeast Asia have also seen this deck achieve impressive results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This deck primarily depends on Life manipulation to execute most of its strategies, allowing players to add necessary cards to their hand. By using the Monkey D. Luffy card from The Three Brothers\u2019 Bond [ST-13], the deck’s Leader card, the player can easily force favorable matchups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That Luffy card is best paired with Gecko Moria from Wings of the Captain [OP-06] card as well as Sabo from Kingdoms of Intrigue [OP-04]. Moria allows players to gain more control over the board without excessive resource expenditure. Sabo, meanwhile, sets the player up for late-game success through the defensive advantage it supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
