[Update 27 Sep 2024] The titular card of the Red\/Blue Marco deck, this card’s Leader effect is what underpins many of the deck’s primary functions throughout the game. This card is not only a draw engine; it also reduces an opposing Character’s maximum Power by 2000 on each turn.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, Marco’s inclusion in the ONE PIECE Card Game set Two Legends [OP-08]<\/a> is largely due to the fact that Edward Newgate, his late former superior, is one of the characters to whom the set’s name refers. That being said, this card is nonetheless one that’s an impressive get in its own right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The card features a Parallel Art illustration that at first glance appears to be a standard close-up image of Marco’s face. However, a closer look reveals that in the background, flames can be seen. These are a reference to Marco’s Devil Fruit, the Bird-Bird Fruit, Model: Phoenix. By harnessing the powers of this Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit, Marco is able to transform into a phoenix or phoenix hybrid\u2014this is also the source of his nickname “Marco the Phoenix”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Character popularity polls have shown that Marco consistently ranks among the most popular of the Whitebeard Pirates, hence the elevated value of this card. In addition, though not a central figure in it, Marco has made an appearance in the manga’s ongoing Egghead Arc, potentially opening the door for him to end up taking a larger role within it later on; this also contributes to demand for the card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This card isn’t yet out in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the latest figures, a Marco (Two Legends [OP-08] OP08-002) card with a rarity of LP sells for 3,300 JPY (~US$21).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
