Despite not having a major role in most of the Summit War Saga around which the ONE PIECE Card Game set Paramount War [OP-02] is themed, Sanji’s status as a general fan favorite ensures that his card is one of the set’s hottest picks. There’s also a somewhat meta factor that plays into this card’s appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For one thing, any card that depicts any of the Straw Hat Pirates and has a Parallel Art illustration\u2014such as this one\u2014is always going to end up one of the set’s leading pulls. In addition, this illustration shows Sanji in character with his trademark cigarette hanging out of his mouth. The background images have also been positioned in such a ways so that the white needle of the compass almost looks like smoke rising out of the cigarette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the aforementioned meta factor? That, in fact, has to do with that cigarette as well. Sanji’s cigarette was censored by the 4Kids version of the English anime dub in a misguided attempt to make One Piece more “child-friendly”. As a result, it became an inside joke within the fanbase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This card has already been released in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The price of a Sanji (Paramount War [OP-02] OP02-026) card of LP rarity is 2,800 JPY (~US$18).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
