Pok\u00e9mon TCG cards from the Crown Zenith <\/a>set are some of the most coveted cards out there right now\u2014especially those depicting Pok\u00e9mon V and Pok\u00e9mon VSTAR. Their Japanese equivalents in the VSTAR Universe [S12a] are likely to soon see a similar increase in hype. Among the standout cards from that set is the Glaceon VSTAR card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside Leafeon VSTAR, Glaceon VSTAR is one of two VSTAR Eeveelution cards in VSTAR Universe [S12a]. With all eight of the Eeveelutions being perennial fan favorites, it’s no wonder that this card of Special Art Rare (SAR) rarity has been highly prized ever since the set’s release back in December 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Full Art illustration shows Glaceon VSTAR standing alone in a snowy field\u2014apt for its status as the Ice-type Eeveelution. Glaceon VSTAR is depicted with a slightly faded outline. This visual effect not only makes it seem as though Glaceon VSTAR is blending into the snow in the background; it’s also likely an allusion to Snow Cloak, its Ability from the Pok\u00e9mon video games which increases a Pok\u00e9mon’s evasiveness when in snow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the combination of the illustration’s background, the holofoil, and even the prism-like border of the card referring to the fact that this is a Pok\u00e9mon VSTAR all subtly reference Glaceon VSTAR’s VSTAR Power of Crystal Star. Finally, even Glaceon VSTAR’s card number of 217\/172 is of relevance. In the Pok\u00e9mon Diamond and Pearl video games, there’s an Ice Rock on Route 217 of the Sinnoh region. By leveling up an Eevee near the Ice Rock, Eevee will evolve into Glaceon\u2014a possible shout-out to the games’ then-recently released remakes Pok\u00e9mon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In English, this card is GG40\/GG70 in the Crown Zenith set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The price of a Glaceon VSTAR (VSTAR Universe [S12a] 217\/172) card of SAR rarity is 3,820 JPY (~US$24).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
